Studio Om Jeneen

Studio Om Jeneen is building a space free from institutional funds and the conditions that erase our stories. A cultural and intellectual revolution, existing outside the system—growing, enduring, and held by community alone.

What is Studio Om Jeneen?

We are an art community center in Amman, founded in 2022, by artist Suhad Khatib. A hole in the wall that has quickly become one of the city's most beloved cultural spaces.

What do we do?

Our warmest tradition is the Monday Chai & Miramieh open house, where our community gathers. Over the past four years, we offered art workshops for children and adults, panels with renowned intellectuals, rehearsal space for musicians, and support for youth-led cultural initiatives.

How are we different?

All of our events are open to everyone and completely free. Given the lack of public and private support for artists—especially during this difficult time of genocide—we believe in holding space for young people to create their own projects.

How do we sustain it?

We've kept Studio Om Jeneen sovereign for four years—no institutional or foreign funds, just our community. Supported by volunteers, book sales, and donations. A space for remembrance and gentle conversation in times of war. If you believe in a cultural space sustained by the people who love it, join the movement. Donate to help us stay open as we celebrate our 4th anniversary.

Art as a language workshops

Through our private workshop series Art as a Language, we invite you to learn more than drawing or painting. You'll step into artistic courage, strengthen the way you connect with others, and experience art as a healing practice. Available for kids, adults, or as a gathering for the whole family. Available at the studio and online. Get in touch to learn more.

Chai & meramieyh

Every Monday evening during open hours, we gather for tea and honest conversation. There's no theme, no requirement—just community. What began as a small invitation has grown into a ritual of care, holding space for one another through joy and through the devastation of genocide. Lifelong friendships have started here. You're welcome to join.
