Art & Nature residency in Jordan
Amman → Wadi Rum → Petra → Dana
Paradoxes of Love and Fear
October 6-12, 2026
Following the first experiment of this residency in Egypt, Suhad Khatib and Abeer Ali from Safi for Sensory Acts, are happy to invite you to this nomadic art & nature residency that moves through four landscapes — Amman, Petra, and Wadi Rum, Dana — creating a space for artistic exploration, inner reflection, and collective inquiry.
Amman → Wadi RUM → Petra → DANA
The paradox between love & fear:
We will explore paradoxes between ancestral meanings of love such as mercy, patience, compassion, devotion, and goodness and dominant cultural narratives that have reduced love to possession, romance, consumption, and the material.
The creation:
Suhad Khatib, Founder of Studio Om Jeneen and Author of: Study on Truth, will guide the group through art workshops that explore the language between ink and water.
The observation:
Abeer Ali, founder of Safi for Sensory Acts will lead mindfulness sessions in nature and in the spaces we inhabit, offering moments to arrive, listen, slow down, and reconnect with ourselves and the landscape.
Who is this for?
This residency is for artists, thinkers, researchers, seekers, and anyone curious about the deeper meanings of love beyond the narratives we have inherited.
THIS IS NOT AN ART CLASS.
You don't need to be an artist.
You don't need previous artistic experience.
You only need curiosity, and a willingness to question what you think you know about love.
Workshops and conversations will be held in Arabic and English.
